Overview
Roots & Refuge is a six-week wellbeing pilot supported by Thrive LDN and Peace Collective, delivered by Mimbar360 in partnership with Living London.
The programme reimagines mosques as spaces of healing, care, and belonging supporting communities affected by war, crisis, and displacement. Through faith-aligned reflection, storytelling, creativity, and sensory awareness, Roots & Refuge nurtures emotional, spiritual, and collective wellbeing.
What the Programme Includes
- Wellbeing Circle Sessions
Guided group conversations rooted in faith-aligned and trauma-informed practice.
- Cultural Memory Workshops
Storytelling, mapping, and creative reflection connecting past, present, and place.
- Sensory Design Micro-Interventions
Simple, low-cost changes — such as lighting, scent, seating, and sound — to support calm and belonging in mosque spaces.
A practical resource enabling mosque teams to continue wellbeing-led practices beyond the pilot.
Who It’s For
Roots & Refuge is open to women, with a particular welcome to those from refugee, migrant, or displaced backgrounds, and anyone seeking a gentle, faith-centred space for reflection and wellbeing.
We encourage attending the full six-week series to support trust and continuity, though attendance at a minimum of four sessions is also welcome.
